But I did notice after reinstalling that it retained my user preferences, so it must have left stuff behind. I thought it was a given that the uninstaller would clean up after itself and delete everything associated with the Drive app when I uninstall. Again, there was nothing in the installer or uninstaller user interface that mentioned resetting the database. So I thought I was resetting the database by uninstalling and reinstalling. It probably got messed up during the "migration" from Backup and Sync, which was glitchy and kept failing and having to restart. I agree the database needs to be reset completely. log text file somewhere in the profile folder?

How do you get to the log? Since it was not obvious in the UI I'm assuming there's a. I only see the big stupid green icon saying that everything is up to date, when it's obviously not. I was unable to find any log file within the user interface. So I even tried adding a new jpg to one of the folders that is now supposed to be backed up by the Drive app. But they were added to the folder before the Backup and Sync migration to the Drive app. They are not duplicates, they have never been uploaded to Photos, they just came fresh off the camera.

They are large 16mpx jpg photos from a DSLR camera.
